Services
Referrals
Referrals are accepted from Law Enforcement and DCFS in accordance with the Center’s Protocol and the following criteria:
- Birth through age 18
- Ongoing investigation of child sexual abuse and/or serious physical abuse
- Child lives in Perry or Jackson County
- Allegations of abuse occurred in Perry or Jackson County and the child lives in a surrounding county
- Other referrals must meet the Protocol guidelines and be approved by the Center's Executive Director
Services
All services at the Perry-Jackson Child Advocacy Center are provided in a multidisciplinary team approach with law enforcement, DCFS, State’s Attorney, Specialized Medical Providers, and Specialized Mental Health Providers. All services are free of charge. The Center provides the following services to child victims and their non-offending family members:
- Linkage to mental health resources
- Coordination with the Multi Disciplinary Team (MDT) regarding the investigation and services provided
- Accompaniment to court hearings/trials or attendance in their place
- Linkage to any community resources available
- Court preparation for victim
- Child friendly facility and trained professional to conduct forensic interviews
- Help with Crime Victims Comensation forms
- Registration with Automated Victim Notification System
Other Services
Other services are also provided by the Perry-Jackson Child Advocacy Center to the communities of both Perry and Jackson County:
- Personal body safety curriculum to students in Pre-K through 5th grades
- Presentations to clubs, churches, organizations, etc. regarding the center, child abuse, or any topic related to child abuse
- Collaboration with other agencies
